Miguel Olmo
Miguel is a Spanish-Australian contemporary artist working across diverse media including sculpture, photography, video, sound and other two dimensional formats. Miguel often draws from his Spanish heritage and experience living in the diaspora to explore memory, time and ephemerality. He holds a Masters of Fine Arts from the College of Fine Arts (CoFA - University of NSW) and Bachelor of Visual Arts from Western Sydney University. His work has been presented in solo and group exhibitions in Australia and abroad and selected for a number of awards including Rookwood Sculpture Walk, Sculpture in the Vineyards, Hazelhurst Art on Paper Award and Fisher’s Ghost Art Award. Residency locations include Murcia, Spain (2017) and Penrith Regional Gallery (2019). His work appears in private and public collections including the Cultural Centre Ramon Alonso Luzzy, Cartagena, Spain.
