Cementa is a unique, regionally situated, socially-engaged, artist-led organisation dedicated to cultivating contemporary art in our regional context. Our annual program of residencies and special projects culminates in our major production, Cementa Festival, a biennial festival of contemporary art that brings together over 60 regional and urban artists for a four-day celebration of Australian contemporary art and the small town that hosts it. Two years ago Cementa took up residence at 71 Angus Avenue, Kandos NSW. The building has served as the social heart of the town for over 100 years and currently houses the Cementa offices, artist residency, workshop and exhibition space run by regional artists and open to participation from artists across Australia. Cementa are currently in the final stages of fundraising towards the purchase of the building, known as Wayout.
