This work is my response to the male gaze, the representation and expectation of women’s bodies, women empowerment, and society’s influence of female conformity. Elle Torso is my debut sculptural artwork. The cast appears to be shredded which is my visual response to the global regression of women and the role (I believe) religion has played into it.
