The aim of my work is to capture the line, to distil and pare. My sculpture Caren#2 is representative of my life partner and muse. To take the human form of flesh and softness and translate it into a hard, coreten steel sculpture was the challenge. Caren#2 can be viewed from many angles – like a body turning in space. The work is purposefully simple in shape, mirroring the lines of the body. So too is the construction of the piece – two pieces of bent steel bolted together, making for relatively easy transportation and assembly.
